The “City of Angels” is one place first-time travelers to America don’t want to miss. After all, who can refuse to see places like Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Sunset Boulevard, Disney Land, or even Universal Studios? These are places made immortal in books and movies, and even more part of anybody’s daydreams.
You’ll run out of time before you run out of places to see here. The world-famous Disneyland and the growing theme park of Universal Studios Hollywood are considered the Meccas of Los Angeles. No one must leave without paying even a day visit to these places. You’re sure to get entertained during your travels in the USA.
Hollywood is now living up to its image, thanks to the extensive and intensive urban renewal it went through. Make all the usual touristy stops – the Walk of Fame, Grauman’s Chinese Theater, and have a picture taken with the Hollywood sign in the background. Don’t be afraid to be kitschy. It’s all in the fun.
Take a stroll through Rodeo Drive or rent a convertible if you want to have that “Star Quality” feeling and drive slowly down through it. Don’t forget the requisite cappuccino as you do! Marvel at all the name brand shops and maybe go in to explore one or two of your dream brands.
Drive that convertible down Sunset Boulevard and get a sense of what the stars saw as they returned home from the Hollywood Studios. You’ll pass the famous Sunset Strip as you do.
Of course, this is the home base for the Southern California “beach scene” and you’ll want to enjoy it. Why not take a tour down Santa Monica and relive an iconic beach area? Or, if you want to get really kitschy, try out Venice Beach for fun. You’ll get to ogle all the people milling around and passing by while getting an eyeful of the body builders that work out and parade on the famous Muscle Beach itself.
