I live within 10 miles of the lake and therefore are continually surprised for the nice part each time we go. There are a number of accommodations, places to eat, outdoor activities which make it perfect for family gatherings, reunions or just a weekend getaway. We’ve friends who keep a houseboat at the lake and sometimes cruise during the summer and spring. Wonderful !
Our first visit after many years of being told to go visit. Well, we did so we found it to be all they exclaimed. We enjoyed visiting each place around this lake. Get-a-way Weekend, or family vacation, it’s there. RV Camping, cabins, tent camping. they’ve it all. We’ll return.
We truly love the clear clean water, the size of the lake, and the lack of some individuals on it. It is definately our favorite lake in the East Texas/SE Oklahoma area!
Stay in Broken Bow Lake Cabins and Beavers Bend Cabins, just minutes from Oklahoma’s Broken Bow Lake in Beavers Bend Public venue. Tucked within the Ouachita and Kiamichi Mountain Wilderness in southeastern Oklahoma, Broken Bow Lake is in a 3 hour drive from Dallas. It’s actually a perfect setting for a weekend or longer.
Broken Bow Lake averages close to 100,000 acre-feet of incredibly clear water surrounded by mountains and forests. The lake is handled from the Corps of Engineers and to retain the lake’s crystal integrity, cabins and homes are not allowed to be built close to the water. Broken Bow Cabins and Beavers Bend Cabins are located 9 miles north of Broken Bow, surrounded by pine trees and wildlife.
